MUSLIM ORGANIZING
“Whoever among you sees evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is unable to do so, then with his tongue. If he is unable to do so, then with his heart, and that is the weakest level of faith.”
-Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon Him)
In a time in which Muslim communities are facing rising levels of discrimination and political suppression, building Muslim organizing power is crucial. Sacramento ACT is working to build congregation-based teams in Masjids across the Sacramento area. The Masjid As-Sabur LOC has been organizing around homelessness in the Oak Park area for the past year and half, and is currently working to address youth needs in the community. Muslim leaders continue to raise critical issues in research meetings with elected officials.
